About me

I'm Augusto, Engineer and former Product Manager. I've built products from scratch, scaled and restructured engineering teams, and spent most of my career in environments where mistakes have legal consequences.

I work as a Fractional CTO. I embed with early-stage teams to guide them from ideas and prototypes to productive, safe, reliable applications they can confidently launch to users.

Background

Nine years at the intersection of software, data, and business. I've worked across fintech, insurtech, and financial planning — in Argentina, Switzerland, Norway, and Germany. Co-founded Financemate, a financial planning platform. Previously (Sr) PM at Dune Analytics (Crypto On-Chain Analytics) and Luko (Insurance), where I led product and engineering initiatives, as well as built products hands-on. I started my career as a Management Consutlant for the Pharma & Biotech sectors.

Some things I'm proud of

  • Inherited a migration six months past deadline. Restructured processes and timeline and shipped on time.
  • Cut customer acquisition cost by 20% in two releases for an Insuretech (brought all lines into profit).
  • Reduced data quality incidents 90% for the crypto industry's largest public data warehouse.
  • Turned a side project into a product experimentation platform used internally to learn from 15M users.

  • Next.js, React & Supabase, with a focus on security hardening
  • AI Agents and Agent orchestration for AI-assisted Software Development
  • Python and SQL till my eyes bled

Languages

Spanish and English natively. Professional German and Portuguese. Enough Italian to make friends.

Other things I do

  • I am working toward the OSCP+ certification because knowing how to attack is a great way to defend (on cyber, at least)
  • I am a sailor with 10,350 miles of offshore experience and a German SKS
  • My abysmal skiing skills (blue slopes are my "hard") are my only obstacle to becoming a certified mountain guide

Where to find me

I live between Berlin and Zürich, with occasional escapes to Buenos Aires and Mendoza. I strongly prefer face-to-face over remote work.
